Top airlines sign up for UNICEF’s vaccine initiative

The UNICEF Humanitarian Airfreight Initiative has been formed with the world’s leading airlines to secure the transport of Covid-19 vaccines and medical supplies around the globe. These chosen carriers have signing agreements with UNICEF to support the prioritisation of delivery of COVID-19 vaccines, essential medicines, medical devices and other critical supplies to respond to the pandemic. AF-KLM posts narrower loss than expected

Air France-KLM posted a narrower than expected fourth quarter loss this week after capping staff costs and cutting capacity as it awaits for elusive signs of a recovering in passenger and cargo traffic. China South, AF KLM cargo JV on hold

China Southern Airlines and Air France KLM have postponed their cargo joint venture, according to China Southern chairman Si Xianmin. "Based on the original plan, our cargo JV with AF KLM should have been launched in the first quarter. Air France/KLM and Delta do transatlantic deal

A new transatlantic joint venture between Air France-KLM and Delta Air Lines will boost each partner's profits by up to US$150 million, the two airlines said recently. Air France-KLM CEO Pierre-Henri Gourgeon said the 13-year agreement to pool revenue and costs for flights between Europe and the US, and to cooperate closely on many other flights, will significantly lift both carriers' revenues while cutting costs.
