KOREA: Asiana to transit at Moscow

Asiana Airlines, Korea¡¯s second biggest carrier, has launched a onceweekly freighter service to Moscow¡¯s Domodedovo airport with a weekly service to Vienna using a Boeing 747- 400F. Domodedovo is one of the largest transport hubs with connections to Europe, Siberia and Far East claiming up to 42 per cent of total air cargo traffi c in the Moscow area. JAPAN: JAL starts new Japan-China service

Japan Airlines has said it will inaugurate a daily service between Haneda Airport, Tokyo and Hongqiao International Airport, Shanghai from September 29, 2007. The new JAL route will initially be operated with a Boeing 767 and from Oct 28, it will be replaced by a Boeing 747- 400 to meet the expected increase in demand. JAPAN: New US-Japan agreement

INDONESIA: Lorena Ekspres doubles capacity

The air freight division of PT Eka Sari Lorena Ekspres, or ESL Ekspres, will double following the plans of Lorena Air to become a full service airline, which is now pending government approval. INDONESIA: DHL airfreight grows 30%

The airfreight division of DHL Global Forwarding Indonesia has grown nearly 30 per cent in the last few years to over 360 tonnes monthly.
