The International Cargo Centre Shenzhen (ICCS) has announced that Donghai Airlines (J5) recently began services at the cargo hub. The carrier launched its inaugural B737-300F freighter service between Shenzhen and Dhaka Airport from 4 December 2007 and consists of three flights per week. Menzies picks up new handling contracts
Menzies Aviation has announced the award of the Emirates Skycargo contract for Ramp Handling in Prague Ruzyne Airport, where the group also currently provides cargo handling services to the airline. The contract commenced on the 9th November and is a new route for the airline. They will operate a weekly flight to Prague using B747-200F aircraft. Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has announced that Czech Airlines Cargo (CSA Cargo) is its latest new airline customer. New bio-fuel plant in the works
Galp Energia, a Portuguese oil company, has announced plans to build a 6,500-barrel-a-day plant to make diesel fuel from vegetable oils using a process similar to oil refining. The method, developed by UOP, a subsidiary of Honeywell, and Eni, the Italian energy company, adds hydrogen to oils derived from food crops to create a substitute that the companies describe as superior to ordinary diesel fuel.
