Central European Handling has acquired Air Cargo Terminal in Prague from Czech Airlines after it posted the highest bid in an electronic auction. The unspecified price, was said to “significantly” exceed ACT’s book value according to a statement from Czech Airlines. Shareholders will vote on the sale of the 100 per cent equity share in ACT in July. SAS Group sells Newco to Teinver
The SAS Group has agreed to sell its 55 per cent stake in the Spanish ground handling company Newco Airport Services to Teinver. Teinver will hold 100 percent of Newco after the transaction. “The divestment is a part of Strategy 2011 launched in June and this is the first part to be completed. Swissport sells ULD subsidiary
Swissport International, a leading provider of ground handling services to the aviation sector, has announced its intention to sell a majority shareholding in its ULD management subsidiary Unitpool Ltd. to Aviation Services Holding (ASH) effective 24 October. DHL launches logistics campus in Germany
Deutsche Post World Net’s contract logistics division DHL Exel Supply Chain is to open a Logistics Campus in Unna in North Rhine-Westphalia, designed especially for brand manufacturers of cosmetics and cleaning agents. Initially covering 645,000 sq. feet, the first customers involved will be Colgate- Palmolive and Johnson & Johnson. Kuehne+Nagel net profit up 30%
Swiss logistics company Kuehne+Nagel posted a 30 per cent rise in nine-month net profit recently, boosted by strong performances in its sea and airfreight divisions. Net profit rose to 408 million Swiss francs (US$348.4 million) from 314 million francs in the same period a year ago. Kuehne+Nagel, which is looking for buyers for its overland unit, aims to continue to grow at double the market average in sea- and airfreight in 2007 and 2008.
