Cargo volumes at Dubai International Airport were up 5.6 per cent in 2009 following a dramatic 26 per cent jump in December and double-digit increases during the last quarter of 2009. BAA wins appeal on airport sale
Spanish-owned airport operator BAA has won its appeal against a ruling by the UK Competition Commission that it must sell three of its airports on the basis that the commission was biased. Schiphol forecasts 2% cargo growth in 2010
Freight traffic at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport slumped by 18.4 per cent in 2009 from a year ago to 1.28 million tonnes. Airfreight volumes at Frankfurt Airport continued their upward trend in December 2009. Nearly 174,000 tonnes of airfreight representing a significant 29.1 per cent jump over December 2008 and a four-fold increase over the seven per cent rise in November 2009.
