Lhasa recorded a million plus passenger throughput in the year 2006. Recently released statistics in the CAAC annual report, showed a 21 per cent increase in passenger fl ow over 2005, and a 45 per cent hike in cargo/mail tonnage. Hyderbad’s new airport ready in March

Hyderabad’s new international airport will be ready by year-end and become operational in March 2008, according to a report in the Economic Times. Reduced free cargo time upsets trade

The Indian government’s plan to reduce free time given to cargo imports at airports has upset trade bodies. Under this policy, cargo clearance time will be reduced from October 1 fromfi ve days to two days. Hong Kong throughput up

Cargo throughput at Hong Kong International Airport grew 10.5 per cent in August. Cargo volume reached 324,000 tonnes in August, up 10.5 percent on the same month last year. It also represented the largest monthly increase this year. Passenger throughput grew to 4.42 million, up 8.2 per cent, due to robust departures and visitor numbers.
