Cathay Pacific introduces cargo flights to Riyadh
Cathay Pacific Cargo is launching a new scheduled freighter service between Hong Kong and Riyadh (RUH) starting 5 January 2021, to meet strong demand for shipments of e-commerce and other general cargo such as garments, the carrier said. Cathay Pacific Group reported HK$9.9 billion (US$1.3 billion) in net loss for the first six months as the carrier felt the impact of Covid-19, with group chairman Patrick Healy describing the half-year period as the most challenging in its 70-year history. DHL Express has extended its partnership with AHK Air Hong Kong Limited with a new 15-year block-space agreement which will enable the carrier’s overnight air services to continue supporting the DHL Express network until 2033.
