Government officials from the Malaysian island of Penang have urged Malaysia Airport Berhad (MAB) to push for federal government funding to build an integrated air cargo terminal to accommodate future air cargo growth on the island. MALAYSIA: Asia Pac cargo volumes remain steady at -22%
Figures released by the Kuala Lumpurbased Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) showed air cargo demand remained depressed in April, with AAPA international freight tonne kilometres (FTKs) down 21.9 per cent, year-on-year. HONG KONG: HK’s April volumes steady, still a concern
April air cargo volumes at Hong Kong International Airport fell 19.8 per cent year-on-year in April to 257,000 tonnes, according to Hong Kong’s Airport Authority. SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines sees profits plunge 92%
Singapore Airlines (SIA) said its January-March profit plunged 92 per cent as the global economic slowdowndepressed passenger and cargo movements.
