AMERICAS: UA to continue with Aer Lingus outsourcing

United Airlines said Wednesday it will press ahead with a controversial plan to outsource some international flying to Aer Lingus despite further cutbacks at the Irish carrier, according to Dow Jones. AMERICAS: Cargojet, LOT offer direct NA service to Poland

Canada’s Cargojet has entered into a strategic aircraft lease agreement with LOT Polish Airlines effective 7 November. AMERICAS:United posts $63 million loss for Q3

UAL Corporation, the holding company of United Airlines, reported a net loss of $63 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, 2009. AMERICAS: Boeing reports $1.6 billion loss in Q3

EUROPE & CIS: Norwegian Air Shuttle ups B737 order

Low-cost carrier Norwegian Air Shuttle has confirmed an order for an additional six Next-Generation 737-800s bringing its total order of 737s to 48. It also has an order for 22 aircraft from leasing companies. The Oslo-based carrier has been opening up new markets in Europe and beyond since it was founded 1 September.
