Shanghai-based Spring Airlines plans to order 30 A320s and expand its fleet to 100 aircraft by 2015, according to Chairman Wang Zhenghua who added that the low cost carrier is awaiting regulatory approval for the order. Asiana Airlines has completed an order for two 777-200ERs (Extended Range) aircraft valued at US$438 million at list prices. The South Korean airline holds rights to substitute the larger 777-300ER which features increased payload and range capability, if needed, in the future. Korean Air is eyeing opportunities to expand its market share in North America using Incheon as a gateway hub to China where it already serves 23 Chinese destinations.
