India's Kingfisher Airline takes delivery of Airbus A321-200 from aircraft lessor AWAS. The carrier has taken delivery of the new aircraft on a nine year lease. AWAS will also deliver another new-build A321-200 to Kingfisher before the end of the month. Once the second delivery is complete, Kingfisher will have a total of five AWAS aircraft on lease. Air India and Gati, a global logistics company, have jointly launched a dedicated cargo service, making it the first public private partnership (PPP) in the air cargo sector. Indonesia's Lion Air looks set for a major regional expansion with firm orders for 122 B737-900ERs destined for the carrier's expansion in Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Malaysia and the Philippines.
