Air France-KLM said cargo Traffic for the month of September rose 4.4 per cent with a 3.0 per cent rise in capacity. The load factor rose 0.9 point to 67.4 per cent with the gain in cargo Traffic driven by Asian, African and Middle East routes. EUROPE/CIS: Cargoitalia expands fleet with 747s
Cargoitalia has signed a wet-lease agreement with US-based Tradewinds Airlines for two Boeing 747-200Fs. The aircraft will be used to fly North Atlantic services from Italy with destinations including Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Houston and Mexico from 7 October following the delivery of the first aircraft. Total cargo handled at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport in September was up 1.2 per cent to 24,633 tonnes, compared to a year earlier. The Israel Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) reported last week that Ben Gurion Airport handled 980,580 passengers during September 2007 on 7,615 international and domestic flights, nearly 29 per cent higher than September 2006. Etihad Airways will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) next year for an aircraft order “of a good size,” CEO James Hogan said recently according to an ATWOnline report.
