Cargo volumes up slightly at Frankfurt

Airfreight through put at Germany's largest airport reached 1,047,681 tonnes in the first six months of 2008 - representing a 3.8 per cent rise. Frankfurt Airport(FRA) also recorded its busiest-ever June for airfreight, handling 177,520 tonnes representing a rise of 0.9 per cent on the previous June record in 2007. Transhipment cargo key to Hactl growth

Copenhagen and FedEx strike a deal

Copenhagen Airports A/S in Denmark has announced an agreement with US based global express operator FedEx Express to provide a new purpose-build cargo facility, including office space, in a deal up to at least 2023.The airport company said the approximately 1,600 sqm cargo facility, which would be tailored to the needs of FedEx Express, would have both air side and land side access, as well as a 770 sqm office building. Munich Airport sees strong 1H 2008

Airfreight volumes at Munich Airport continue to post increases with a total of nearly 125,000 tonnes of flown airfreight in the first half of 2008 representing a gain of approximately 4 per cent over the previous year.
