Schiphol cargo closes gap in Q3

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol’s cargo tonnage trends moved closer to those of 2014 in the third quarter of 2015, narrowing the deficit to 1.44 per cent year to date. Q3 saw a total of 409,034 tonnes of cargo handled through the airport, fractionally (0.08 per cent) down on the same period of 2014. Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo has joined forces with Rhenus and Cargonaut in launching e-Fast Delivery, a new concept to simplify the cargo delivery process. Since 13 May, truck drivers have been able to deliver air cargo at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol directly to designated loading docks without first stopping at the documentation desk.
