Qatar Airways Cargo took delivery of three brand new B-777Fs on New Year’s day, as it now counts 30 freighters in its fleet, including two B-747s, 24 B-777s and four A330 freighters. The air cargo carrier will operate these freighters on its long-haul scheduled routes and as cargo charters amidst the mammoth task of delivering vaccines. Qatar Airways is restarting services to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi, Kenya with 14 weekly flights and to Kigali International Airport (KGL) in Rwanda with three weekly flights, a press release confirmed. Aug cargo figures up for Cathay, Dragonair
Cathay Pacific and sister airline Dragonair have reported carrying 146,955 tonnes of cargo and mail last month, an increase of 19.7 per cent compared to August 2013. Cargo and mail load factor rose by 3.8 percentage points to 62.5 per cent. Capacity rose by 13.3 per cent while the revenue earned per flown tonne of cargo and mail (RTKs) was up 20.6 per cent. MASKargo may slash cargo capacity again
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) may slash another 20 per cent of its cargo capacity in the coming months following a cut of 23 per cent year-on-year since the fourth quarter of the 2008 financial year ended 31 December.
