Some 93 per cent of Hong Kong Aircrew Officers Association members have voted to push ahead with their work-to-rule protest over the Christmas period after rejecting a proposed pay increase. Cathay Pacific and sister airline Dragonair have reported carrying 146,955 tonnes of cargo and mail last month, an increase of 19.7 per cent compared to August 2013. Cargo and mail load factor rose by 3.8 percentage points to 62.5 per cent. Capacity rose by 13.3 per cent while the revenue earned per flown tonne of cargo and mail (RTKs) was up 20.6 per cent. Cathay Pacific Airways will launch a new four-times-weekly non-stop service from Hong Kong to Boston, Massachusetts, on 2 May 2015, subject to government approval.
