DHL to pay $53m to settle price-fixing suit

DHL Express (USA) has agreed to pay US$53 million to resolve an antitrust class action accusing the express company and others of participating in an international price-fixing scheme, according to documents filed this week in New York federal court. If approved, the settlement would allow DHL to exit the long-running litigation filed in 2008. DHL Express’ CO2 efficiency rises 12% in Asia Pac

DHL Express has improved its carbon efficiency year-on-year in Asia Pacific despite a growth in volume of about 10 per cent. In 2014, CO2 efficiency improvement over 2013 registered 12 per cent across Asia Pacific with outstanding performance from Malaysia which registered a 21 per cent improvement, India at 15 per cent and Taiwan at 14 per cent. DHL Express invests on Thai infrastructure

DHL Express announced plans to increase its investments in physical infrastructure and services in Thailand to 180 million baht (EUR 4.9 million) in 2015 to deliver business growth and enhance service quality. Part of the new investments include the relocation of DHL Express Thailand's head office, the expansion of DHL service points and a new service centre in Thailand. DHL Express plans Mumbai air cargo facility

DHL Express is planning to open an air cargo terminal in Mumbai, with further India growth planned. The company already has two similar facilities at Delhi and Bengaluru airports. DHL said it has a share of about 50 per cent in India's domestic air cargo market, handling one million shipments a month.
