A new Chinese postal law may make life difficult for international express carriers operating in China to expand their business. The Chinese government on enacted a new postal law on 24 April that bars foreign companies from delivering domestic express letters. Kiwi exporters hit with security surcharge
Air New Zealand, the country’s largest ground handler, announced it would add an additional per kilogram charge as part of new cargo terminal security required under international rules. A new minimum charge of NZ$15 for all cargo shipments or 2 cents a kg plus a screening fee of 5 cents a kg if required. DHL Supply Chain has announced the extension of the successful partnership with leading wholesaler and retailer, Makro, with its plan to build a new US$4.6 million automated warehouse in Thailand. Located in Wang Noi on the northern outskirts of Bangkok, the newly built warehouse spans 14,500 square meters and boasts a handling capacity of more than 80 million cases per annum. DHL in talks with ABX and ASTAR in US
DHL has opened discussions with ABX Air and ASTAR Air Cargo about the possibility of taking over its domestic US operations out of Wilmington, according to an Associated Press report.
