With its line-haul agreement with DHL now operational, Polar Air Cargo has looked to the US-Australia market to supplement its income. The US all-cargo carrier has launched Saturday flights from Wilmington to Sydney with B747-400F aircraft. Captain GR Gopinath has sold an estimated one per cent stake in Kingfisher Airlines to raise funds for his nascent cargo venture called Deccan Express Logistics. UPS opened a US$125 million hub in Shanghai in early December with the facility located at Pudong International Airport, with promises of improving delivery times for customers in eastern China by a full day. DHL opens new Jordan hub
DHL Express, has announced that its US$3.7 million hub in Jordan is now fully operational, Al-Bawaba News reported. The new facility combines a state-of-the-art airside operation with the hub and transit point. The Hub services all of DHL's road activity from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) through to the Levant, North Africa, and Europe.
