Cathay Pacific kickstarts major SAF pilot in Hong Kong

Cathay Pacific will pilot the first sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) programme at Hong Kong International Airport, allowing air freight customers to reduce their carbon footprint. The Hong Kong-based carrier will kickstart the programme with corporate launch customers, which include Aerospace Industries Association, DHL Global Forwarding and Kintetsu World Express (KWE). AeroLogic starts Shenzhen-Leipzig air cargo route

A new air freight route has been launched that will link the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen with Leipzig (LEJ) in Germany, Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX) announced last week. The route will be operated by German cargo airline AeroLogic, a joint venture between DHL and Lufthansa Cargo, with six round trips each week using a Boeing 777 freighter. DHL Global Forwarding, the freight specialist arm of Deutsche Post DHL Group, has been awarded the Good Distribution Practices (GDP) certification for its life sciences and healthcare facility in Sri Lanka. DHL Express adds capacity in Asia over surging demand

DHL Express has added more than 2,000 tonnes to its weekly airfreight capacity to cater to rising demand for express shipments within Asia and between Asia Pacific and the US.
