Schiphol tonnages hit by slowing Chinese output
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol’s cargo throughput totalled 385,842 tonnes in the first three months of 2015, down 1.8 per cent on 2014. Reductions in cargo to and from Asia and Europe accounted for the drop, the first quarterly fall in almost two years. Virgin Atlantic Cargo has awarded a new three-year road feeder services contract to Jan de Rijk Logistics, extending its delivery network to over 50 airports across Europe. AirAsia X, the long-haul arm of Malaysia-based AirAsia, will spread its wings to the US for the first time later this year. The low-cost airline said in a regulatory filing Monday that it plans to begin four weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Honolulu International Airport on 1 November. Air China to launch Beijing-Budapest service
China's national carrier has unveiled plans to open Beijing - Minsk - Budapest services from 1 May 2015. Air China will operate the flights using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
