Boeing and Hainan Airlines today celebrated the delivery of the carrier's first B787-9 Dreamliner of 30 due to be delivered. Hainan becomes China's first operator of both the B787-8 and B787-9 variants of the Dreamliner family. China's Hainan Airlines has announced an expansion of its North American network from 30 June with the launch its first ever flights to the Canadian city of Calgary using A330 equipment to start, replacing this with B787-8 Dreamliner aircraft from 1 August. HNA Group in talks to acquire Swissport
HNA Group Co., owner of China’s fourth-largest airline, is said to be in talks to acquire ground handler Swissport International Ltd., according to a Bloomberg report quoting unnamed sources. The report said Swissport’s private-equity owner PAI Partners SAS is seeking about US$3 billion from a sale, but negotiations have dragged on for several months, held up by disagreement over the price, according to the sources.
