Cargo growth has “come off the boil”: IATA

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that growth continued to slow in May. Compared to May 2014, growth in freight tonne kilometers (FTK) was 2.1 per cent, the slowest rate this year and outpaced by a capacity expansion of 4.3 per cent. Hong Kong's Swire group has has announced another in what appears to be a fairly regular management shakeup, which will see James Woodrow move from director of cargo at Cathay Pacific Airways  to the shipping side of Swire’s vast business empire. Effective this summer Woodrow, who is also the current chairman of the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) Cargo Committee, will become managing director at The China Navigation Company Pte Ltd (CNCo). Andres Conesa named IATA chairman

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that Andres Conesa, CEO of Aeromexico, has assumed his duties as chairman of the IATA Board of Governors for a one-year term, effective immediately. He is the first Mexican to hold this position.
