Global FTKs grew by 2.7% in January, but momentum flat: ICAO

According to the latest update from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) freight traffic - expressed in freight-tonne-kilometres (FTKs) - grew by +2.7 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in January 2016, +1.9 percentage points higher than the growth in December 2015. ICAO issues clarifications on the lithium ion battery ban

The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Council has issued clarifications on its earlier prohibition on the carriage of lithium ion batteries as cargo on passenger aircraft. BREAKING NEWS: ICAO bans Lithium-ion battery cargo on passenger aircraft

The 36-State International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Governing Council has adopted a new aviation safety measure prohibiting, on an interim basis, all shipments of Lithium-ion batteries as cargo on passenger aircraft, effective 1 April 2016. ICAO reaches agreement on CO2 emissions standard

US FAA downgrades Thailand to Category 2

Singapore, ICAO renew long-standing training partnership

Singapore and the International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO) have renewed their long-standing Developing Countries Training Programme (CDTP) MoU for another three years until 2019. The DCTP seeks to contribute to the development of civil aviation in developing ICAO Member States. Over the next three years Singapore has committed US$2.25 million for 300 fellowships and 10 scholarships.
