Korean Air held a demo on 16 December to showcase its latest aircraft inspection technology using multiple drones, which is expected to shorten the inspection time and improve workplace safety. Korean Air posts record cargo revenue for Q2
Korean Air recorded its strongest quarter for cargo amidst capacity shortages and lack of belly space as more than one third of its planes remain grounded. In its non-consolidated financial results, the airline’s revenue jumped 16 percent year on year in Q2 to KRW1.9508 trillion (US$1,726 million), whilst operating profit climbed 31 percent to KRW196.9 billion (US$174 million). Korean Air flies ‘preighter’ to Miami on longest nonstop flight
Korean Air flew its longest non-stop flight since its establishment in 1969 using a passenger plane converted to a freighter. Its cargo flight KE8047, which left Incheon Airport (ICN) on June 12 at 9:14 pm, arrived at Miami Airport (MIA) after flying 13,405 km for a duration of 14 hours and 42 minutes.
