IAG Cargo has announced its 2014 full year results, reporting commercial revenue (flown revenue plus fuel surcharges) of €992 million (approximately US$1.11 billion) over the period from 1 January to 31 December 2014, a decrease of 7.5 per cent on 2013. Korean Air widens 4Q losses
The Korean flag carrier posted a KRW272 billion (US$247.5 million) net loss for the fourth quarter of 2014 and a KRW458 deficit for the full year, widened from a KRW57 billion loss recorded in the year-ago period. Korean Air 3Q cargo yields on the up
Korean Air registered a 5.7 per cent increase in cargo yield in 3Q 2014 as its load factor rose 2.5 percentage points to 79.1 per cent. Its cargo arm, accounting for 22.1 per cent of total airline revenues in Q3, saw a 10 per cent rise in domestic cargo revenue sales in the three months to September. Lufthansa Cargo’s freight volumes fell 14.1 per cent in June to 128,000 tonnes from a year ago, similar to other European cargo carriers, but ending a brief burst of optimism in May when its volumes improved to only a -9.1 per cent drop year-on-year.
