CMA CGM continues air fleet expansion with second B777F
CMA CGM welcomed its second Boeing 777F freighter as it announced an additional order for two more of the aircraft type at a ceremony signing held in Everett, WA on June 7. Atlas Air to operate new 747-8 freighter for Cainiao
Aircraft lessor and ACMI operator Atlas Air has taken delivery of a new Boeing 747-8 freighter, which it will operate on behalf of Alibaba logistics arm Cainiao Network under a long-term agreement. Cathay to resume long-haul cargo routes next month
Cathay Pacific is looking to resume long-haul freighter destinations in Europe and the Americas starting June as Hong Kong’s travel restrictions and quarantine requirements continue to affect its business. In April, the airline carried 92,361 tonnes of cargo last month, up 26.3 percent compared to April 2021, but down 43.6 percent decrease compared with the same period in 2019. Korean Air flew its longest non-stop flight since its establishment in 1969 using a passenger plane converted to a freighter. Its cargo flight KE8047, which left Incheon Airport (ICN) on June 12 at 9:14 pm, arrived at Miami Airport (MIA) after flying 13,405 km for a duration of 14 hours and 42 minutes.
