Logistics provider FedEx Express on 6 October revealed its newest gateway facility in Clark, Philippines, north of Manila, which is valued over US$30 million and scheduled to open in April next year. The 17,000-square-meter facility, equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, is expected to speed up sorting capabilities to 9,000 documents and parcels per hour. SpiceJet’s active role in India’s Vande Bharat Mission saw the country’s ‘favourite carrier’ repatriate 160 stranded Indian nationals from Cebu to Chennai using a Boeing 737 aircraft, a press release confirmed. Cebu Pacific of the Philippines has placed an order with Airbus for seven A321ceo to meet ongoing strong growth on its domestic and regional network. The latest contract comes on top of an existing order for 32 A321neo. Cebu Pacific continues int’l network expansion
The Philippine’s largest carrier, Cebu Pacific, is set to launch three new routes including first international service from the southern Philippine city of Davao. The triple launch will take place on 17 December, when CEB commences services connecting Manila with Fukuoka, Cebu with Taipei and Davao with Singapore. Cebu Pacific sees 1H net profit jump 64%
The Philippines’ Cebu Pacific and its wholly owned subsidiary Cebgo (formerly Tiger Air Philippines), posted a 64 per cent rise in net income of P5.2 billion (US$111.6 million) for the first half of 2015, over the P3.18 billion earned in the same period last year.
