AirAsia Group said to be considering merging Thai, Indonesian units
Malaysia’s AirAsia Group is said to be considering merging its Thai and Indonesia AirAsia affiliates into one company which would then be listed on both the Thai and Malaysian stock exchanges. Singapore Airlines has taken delivery of its first A350 XWB in Toulouse, France, becoming the fifth operator of the all-new widebody airliner. After an initial period flying on regional services to Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta the aircraft will be deployed on long haul flights from May, starting with Amsterdam and then Dusseldorf. The first A350-900 for Singapore Airlines completed its maiden flight over the skies of South West France yesterday. The aircraft will now enter the final phase of production, including further ground checks and test flights, before being prepared for delivery in the coming weeks. SIA, Lufthansa form new JV
Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Lufthansa have signed a wide-ranging partnership agreement that will see the two airline groups operating key routes between Singapore and Europe on a joint-venture basis, in addition to significantly expanding codeshare ties and deepening commercial co-operation. Singapore Airlines adds Düsseldorf to network
Düsseldorf will become the third German city in Singapore Airlines’ route network next year, when non-stop flights are introduced from Singapore.
