Dubai International recorded an increase of 19.5 per cent in passenger traffic in September, the highest monthly growth rate since October 2007 and the fourth consecutive month of double-digit passenger traffic growth. HK’s AAT sees 12% decline throughput in Sept
Asia Airfreight Terminal Co Ltd (AAT) announced today its tonnage throughput for September 2009 was 47,182 tonnes, down 12 per cent compared with the same month last year. Export cargo registered 32,967 tonnes, a decline by 11 per cent against same period last year. Import cargo volume for September was 13,887 tonnes, recording a decrease of 14 per cent from last year. Hong Kong cargo drops 29% in Jan
Air cargo through Hong Kong's airport dropped 28.9 per cent year-on-year in January to 210,000 tonnes, according to recent figures released by the airport authority. Almost all major markets experienced a double-digit decline during the month. While imports from Japan, Europe and Southeast Asia dropped most significantly, exports to Europe, North America and Taiwan showed the biggest dip. Freight traffic at Frankfurt airport dropped by 25 per cent in December from a year ago - the third successive monthly decline at Europe¡¯s largest air cargo hub - as the global economic downturn slashed German exports.
