Turkish Airlines has posted a net loss for the first nine months of 2016, of US$463 million - a dramatic change from the $877 million net profit for the same period last year. Revenues were down 6.0 per cent to $7.6 billion, while an operating loss of $154 million contrasted the $894 million operating profit for the same period in 2015. Turkish Cargo has launched weekly freighter services to Senegal's capital, Dakar. The Turkish carrier said the launch marked the 10th freighter service to the continent as part of its expansion plans for Africa, and the 51st freighter destination across the globe. Turkish Cargo is offering new services to two cities: Chicago and Kuwait City. The all-cargo weekly flight to Chicago O’Hare will supplement the already healthy belly capacity currently available in multiple Turkish passenger flights to cities in both the US and Canada.
