For the second month in a row, the worldwide average USD-yield improved month-over-month (MoM), this time by 1.0 per cent, down however, from last year’s MoM figure of +1.7 per cent. A repetitive story of stagnant volumes and falling yields

Noting the air cargo story of 2015 - stagnant volumes and falling yields - threatens to become repetitive, WorldACD Market Data said August showed a year-on-year (YoY) volume increase of just 0.9 per cent, while month-on-month (MoM) US$-yields fell again, this time by 1.2 per cent ( yields in Aug 2014 decreased by 0.8 per cent vs July 2014). Yields down as much as -41% since 2008: WorldACD

With the topic of yields dominating any discussion about the current business environment, WorldACD has clearly demonstrated the dismal state of affairs through a comparison of USD-yields between June 2008 and June 2015, with not one single market showing a yield increase over that period. Airfreight yields continue to drop

WorldACD reported global airfreight volume in April increased by 3.3 per cent year-over-year (YoY), slightly lower than the growth in Q1, with the origin Europe (4.1 per cent) and the destination North America (12.6 per cent) as the best performing areas. Yields continued to drop: measured in USD, they have now lost almost 11 per cent of their early 2014-values. Sept best month this quarter: WorldACD

September turned out to be the best month of this year's third quarter according to the latest statistics from WorldACD, with a worldwide volume growth of 1.9 per cent year-on-year (YoY) and a modest month-over-month (MoM) yield increase (in USD) of 0.4 per cent, the first such improvement since last February.
