Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (JAL) is pleased to announce an increase in the number of weekly code-share cargo flights operated with KALITTA Airlines (KALITTA) between Narita and Chicago from five to six flights per week, starting April 1.
Since May 2025, JAL has been providing stable and flexible air cargo transportation by incorporating large cargo aircraft into its network through a code-share agreement with KALITTA. This has enabled JAL to respond to the rapidly growing cargo demand between Asia and North America.
By further strengthening its network for these scheduled cargo operations, which began in 2025, JAL aims to meet the increasing demand for cargo transportation between Asia and North America.
At the same time, JAL is committed to contributing to solving social issues and achieving sustainable growth as a logistics infrastructure by expanding the air transportation network and responding to the demand for high-value-added cargo such as high-tech goods, chemicals, and express shipments with high-quality cargo handling, which is one of JALCARGO’s strengths.
The Chicago–Narita cargo service (JL6746/K4550) will operate from April 1 to October 24, departing Chicago at 01:30 and arriving in Narita at 08:30 the following day. Flights will run three times weekly, with a Boeing 777-300ERSF on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and a Boeing 747-400F on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. In the opposite direction, the Narita–Chicago service (JL6747/K4551/K4557) will depart Narita at 11:25 and arrive in Chicago at 12:30 on the same day. This route will be served by the 777-300ERSF on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and by the 747-400F on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The Boeing 777-300ERSF offers a payload capacity of 224,900 lbs (100,000 kg), with space for 33 pallets in the upper cargo compartment and 14 pallets in the lower deck. Meanwhile, the Boeing 747-400F provides a higher payload capacity of 249,100 lbs (112,990 kg), accommodating 30 pallets on the main deck and 9 pallets plus 4 containers in the lower compartment.
