HAECO, a leading provider of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) solutions, announced an extension of its maintenance cooperation with Atlas Air, the world’s leader in outsourced aviation logistics and operator of the largest fleet of Boeing 747 freighter aircraft, headquartered in White Plains, New York. The extended cooperation builds on a partnership of more than 25 years.
Under the latest agreements, HAECO will extend its line maintenance support for 2026–2030, scaling its on-site manpower to further optimise aircraft ground time and enhance turnaround efficiency for Atlas’ operations in Hong Kong. HAECO will also extend base maintenance support for Atlas’ Boeing 747 fleet from 2028–2030 at its Hong Kong base maintenance facility, providing long-term certainty and creating opportunities for further capacity commitments as Atlas continues to expand.
“Atlas Air’s teams rely on fast, predictable support wherever they operate, and that starts with listening closely to what they need,” said Gerald Steinhoff, Chief Commercial Officer at the HAECO Group. “We work side by side to understand their priorities and shape the right maintenance support around them—so they can keep cargo moving with confidence. This renewed commitment reflects how we put customers first: we listen, we understand, and we lead with reliable solutions built for long-term partnership.”
Rich Steer, Vice President of Technical Operations at Atlas Air, added: “As Atlas Air continues to grow and evolve, our partnership with HAECO remains a key enabler of our technical operations strategy, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Their proven track record and commitment to excellence make them an ideal partner as we scale to meet increasing global demand and our customers.”
HAECO is one of the world’s largest line maintenance service providers, offering a full suite of high-quality services including line maintenance, cabin and AOG recovery at key airports through its line maintenance stations in Hong Kong and locations across the Chinese Mainland. HAECO currently provides 24/7 support to more than 140 airlines and handles around 200,000 flight movements each year.
As a world-class independent MRO operator, HAECO is also recognised for extensive airframe maintenance capabilities and operational excellence, delivering comprehensive airframe services from its state-of-the-art facilities in Hong Kong and Xiamen, supported by long-standing relationships with Airbus, Boeing and other OEMs.
