American logistics integrator UPS has placed an order for eight more 767 freighters from Boeing as the integrator looks to modernize its fleet in view of efficiency, sustainability and reliability.
The incremental order will increase the carrier’s fleet of 767 freighters to 108, along with 238 Boeing heritage freighters like the 747, 757, 767 and MD-11.
UPS, who was the launch customer of the 767 freighter in 1995, will begin taking delivery of the new airplanes in 2025. The top-up purchase builds on the announced order for 19 767 freighters in December 2021. The carrier is also scheduled to receive an additional 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) in late 2023.
