Finmeccanica subsidiary Alenia Aeronautica, has successfully completed the "ultimate load testing" of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner horizontal stabiliser. The test was carried out at the Laboratory of Structural Tests at Alenia's Pomigliano plant in Naples in the presence of Boeing engineers. British airport operator BAA has submitted a GBP2.5 billion (US$5 billion) plan to the UK Department for Transport to add a second runway and new terminal at London Stansted Airport by 2015. The two-runway, two-terminal airport is expected to open in 2015, serving 68 million passengers a year by 2030. Finnair is set to launch flights from its Helsinki hub to Yekaterinburg, Russia and increase frequencies to its two established Russian destinations.
