INDIA: Sharjah to join Air Cargo India 2008

Sharjah International Airport has confi rmed its participation in Air Cargo India 2008, the second edition of this biennial international networking conference, which is being organised by STAT Times at the World Trade Centre in Mumbai from January 23-25, 2008. Jet Airways Cargo is following up its success in the UK with a drive to grab a share of the Irish market. INDIA: Tata Group to build aircraft components

Tata Group, which started India’s fi rst airline in the 1930s, is planning a foray into the manufacture of aircraft components for exports, according to a report in the Times of India. The group is acquiring land at a special economic zone (SEZ) in Nagpur for setting up the component manufacturing plant. INDIA: Gati eyes double turnover

NEW ZEALAND: ANZ may face price fixing fine

Air New Zealand’s annual results are expected to reveal whether provision has been made for possible fi nes related to air-freight price fi xing. Qantas has set aside US$40 million, following investigations by authorities in the US into collusion on cargo prices by airlines, including Qantas and Air New Zealand.
