Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced it will start code sharing on 6 additional routes operated by China Eastern Airlines (MU) between China and Japan. The new code share agreement will enable JAL to place its "JL" designator on China Eastern Airlines' flights operating between Shanghai and Qingdao and Japanese cities of Kagoshima, Matsuyama, Niigata, Okinawa, Fukuoka and Nagoya. China recently completed construction of a RMB 700 million (US$100 million), A380 aircraft maintenance hangar, claimed to be the largest one in Asia.
