DHL eCommerce invests in India to tap surging demand

DHL eCommerce, a division of Deutsche Post DHL Group, is investing €70 million to strengthen its operations to meet the fast-growing demand for e-commerce logistics services in India. Through its subsidiary Blue Dart Express, this investment will go into the expansion of its air hubs in Delhi and Mumbai, which are part of its network of 13 air hubs in India. Indonesia's Lion Group has said it is planning to set up joint-venture carriers in India and Vietnam. Chairman Edward Strait confirmed the Indonesian conglomerate is planning to set up joint-ventures in India and Vietnam. Malaysia Airlines considering new widebody order

Malaysia Airlines is considering placing a new order for up to twenty-five widebody aircraft airline chief executive officer (CEO) Peter Bellew has said in an interview. Etihad Cargo announces three new maindeck services to Europe

Etihad Cargo has announced three new freighter services from Europe. Last month Etihad Cargo started operating B777 freighters from East Midlands and Stansted airports in the UK and from Copenhagen in Denmark. Cathay Pacific eyeing a boost in maindeck capacity to India

Driven primarily by pharmaceutical traffic, India is proving to be a bright spot in the cargo sector for Cathay Pacific Airways with its current 25 freighter frequencies per week. The carrier has seen an eight per cent growth in cargo volumes in first nine months (January-September) of this year between Hong Kong and the six indian cities it serves with maindeck capacity.
