BAA cargo dives 21 per cent in Feb
Britain’s largest airports group saw cargo traffic plunged more than 20 per cent in February. HK air cargo shows modest improvement
Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has released its throughput figures for May showing an 18.6 per cent decline in throughput year-on-year to 177,980 tonnes which represents a modest improvement over April’s 22.5 per cent year-on-year decline to 174,809 tonnes. Frankfurt Airport’s (FRA) traffic during the past three months continues to provide optimism as the drop in aircraft movements, as well as airfreight and airmail continued to slow slightly, Fraport said in a statement.Aircraft movements dropped only 4.4 per cent year-on-year to 40,666 takeoffs and landings and with 146,259 tonnes of cargo handled in May, Frankfurt’s airfreight slowdown narrowed to 17.1 per cent.
