Airbus to develop five new Belugas
To industrially accompany the A350 XWB ramp-up and other aircraft production rate increases, Airbus took the decision to launch the development and production of five new Belugas. The new Beluga will be based on the A330 with a large re-use of existing components and equipment. Frontier Services sets up operations in Malta
Frontier Services has established Phoenix Aviation Malta Ltd (PAM) in the island of Malta. PAM will offer specialty passenger and cargo flight services to the company's clients across North Africa. FSG will reposition two of its aircraft to Malta by the end of November 2014 to support a recent contract award and to meet the emergent requirements of other clients. Latam’s Oct cargo traffic rose 1.5%
Latin America's Latam Airline group says its October 2014 load factor increased 1.6 points to 84.9 per cent and passenger traffic increased by three per cent while capacity increased by 1.1 per cent. Group cargo traffic increased 1.5 per cent on a capacity drop of 2.3 per cent. Cargo load factor increased 2.4 points to 62.9 per cent. Emirates airline, Dubai Airports and the aviation sector as a whole contributed US$26.7 billion to the Dubai economy in 2013, which was almost 27 per cent of Dubai’s GDP and supported a total of 416,500 jobs accounting for 21 per cent of the emirates’ total employment.
