Silk Way nears deal on three B747-8 freighters
Boeing is nearing an agreement to sell three 747-8 freighters to Azerbaijan’s Silk Way West Airlines, a deal that would end a drought in purchases of the humpbacked jumbo jet. APAC airlines report increased cargo demand
Preliminary traffic figures for the month of November released by the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) showed that both international passenger and air cargo markets recorded further growth in demand. SkyCargo’ all-in rates welcomed by forwarders
The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has welcomed SkyCargo’s move to return to an all-in pricing on air freight shipments to and from Europe from 1st of February and on the airline's global network from 1st of March. The cargo arm of Dubai-based Emirates said the single “all-in” charge would be based on weight plus the current fuel and security fees. IATA reports 4.2% rise in Nov air freight
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) reported November 2014 data for global air freight markets showing that demand measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTK) grew 4.2 per cent compared to November 2013. Capacity grew by 3.3 per cent over the previous November. Compared to October 2014, air freight demand expanded by a healthy 0.8 per cent.
