Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed an order establishing a new airline that is to be the country’s sec- ond biggest after Aeroflot, the Kremlin said. The president’s order will see Russian regional airlines KrasAir, Domodedovo, Samara, Omskavia and Sibaviatrans merged into AirUnion within six months, the Kremlin said in a statement. Jet Airways of India has appointed IAM as its cargo GSSA for Ireland, with immediate effect. The appointment of IAM - Ireland’s largest cargo GSSA - marks the first active marketing of Jet Airways’ cargo capacity in Ireland, since it began international services to London in 2005. Jet Airways now operates a total of 27 flights per week from London Heathrow to Mumbai, Delhi and Amritsar, using A330s and A340s with approximately 14 tonnes’ capacity per flight. Air India said it will launch its all freighter operations this month. The first all freighter aircraft, converted from an A 310 passenger aircraft will be deployed on the Kerala-Gulf sector. Air India, which in the early 1990s had an air cargo market share of 30 percent, is planning to regain its market share from this operation.
