Arriving from a non-stop flight from Boeing’s plant in Seattle, USA, the first of eight brand-new AeroLogic Boeing 777 freighters landed at Leipzig/Halle Airport, the home of the new freight airline AeroLogic, a joint venture between DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo. Cargoitalia – the Italian all-cargo airline being re-launched under the new ownership of ALIS – has taken delivery of the first of three MD11SF freighters, which has a 90 tonne payload and 3, 600 nautical miles range. Russia’s S7 Airlines joins oneworld alliance
Russian domestic airline, S7 Airlines, is to join global airline alliance, oneworld. Decline slows, but no recovery in sight: IATA
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released its international traffic data for April which shows air freight continuing at very weak levels. International cargo was down 21.7% in April compared to previous year levels.
