Airbus trials P&W's geared turbofan
Following earlier trials with Boeing, Airbus and Pratt & Whitney (P&W) have commenced a series of flight tests to evaluate the ‘PurePower’ PW1000G technology demonstrator engine which features P&W’s patented ‘Geared Turbofan’ (GTF) architecture. Blue Dart Express Ltd sees its quarterly sales climb as profit drops year-on-year. Income from operations for the quarter ended 30 September ‘08 was INR 2,628.4 million, compared to INR 2,073 million a year earlier. Americas: Continental cashes in on bag-check fees
Continental Airlines said recently it expects to see US$100 million in revenue and cost savings related to a new US$15 dollar bag-check fee. The fourth-largest US airline also said it is comfortable with its bookings over the next six weeks.
