HAECO extends MRO pact with German cargo airline

HAECO Hong Kong has extended its long-term agreement with AeroLogic GmbH and will provide heavy maintenance services to the German cargo airline’s B777-200 freighter fleet between 2021 and 2024, including the current fleet of 18 B777F aircraft. The maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services provider says the extension in partnership is a testament to the long-standing collaboration between the two companies. DHL Express is adding more air freight capacity to as it looks to serve the growing demand between Asia Pacific and the US and Europe for express shipments fuelled by the rapid growth of e-commerce. The express operator will deploy two B777 freighters operated by Kalitta Air and Aerologic and the scheduled flight routes will offer close to 2,350 tonnes of capacity each week. Lufthansa Cargo rides out a challenging year 2% up

Lufthansa Cargo again maintained its leading position in Europe last year, with a total of 1.6 million tonnes of freight and mail flown and 8.4 billion revenue tonne-kilometres sold. The total volume grew slightly by 2.0 per cent in what the German carriers said was a "challenging market environment". DHL has expanded its air network with an Aerologic route linking the UAE to Asia and Europe. Aerologic, the joint venture cargo airline of DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo, will operate a B777F flight between Leipzig and Hong Kong with a connection in Sharjah, the third largest emirate of the UAE.
