SIA Cargo sees improving cargo traffic

Singapore Airlines (SIA) Cargo has reported a 5.2 per cent growth in overall cargo load factor (CLF) in February, year-on-year, as cargo traffic (measured in freight-tonne-kilometres) was 17.1 per cent higher against an overall capacity increase of 7.6 per cent. Total freight carried for the month rose 14.7 per cent y-o-y to 84,800 tonnes. Green light for Hong Kong’s third runway

Hong Kong's government has approved a third runway for the city’s international airport. Expected to open by 2023, the HK$141.5 billion (US$18.2 billion) project will be funded from internal funds, borrowings and user fees, including a possible HK$180 (US$23.20) additional passenger fee until the end of construction. Qatar Airways to start LAX freighter service

Qatar Airways Cargo will launch a new freighter service to Los Angeles from 4 April 2015. The twice-weekly B777 freighter service to Los Angeles will become Qatar Airways Cargo’s fourth US freighter destination alongside Houston, Chicago and Atlanta.  The new addition will provide 100 tonnes of cargo capacity per flight, departing Doha on Wednesdays and Saturdays via Luxembourg and Mexico to Los Angeles International Airport. Martinair Cargo cuts jobs, fleet size
