Malaysia Airlines to cut 6,000 staff
Malaysia Airlines has announced that it will slash 6,000 jobs, reduce its route network, and replace its CEO as part of recovery plan after being hit by two disasters this year. State investment fund Khazanah Nasional, which controls the failing flag carrier, said it would pump 6 billion ringgit (US$1.9 billion) into the airline, hoping the changes will return the company to profitability by 2018. Silk Way receives two Boeing 747-8 freighters
Azerbaijan-based cargo carrier Silk Way has taken delivery of its two new Boeing 747-8 freighters. The two aircrafts were delivered last week. Both new 747-8 Freighters will bring new levels of efficiency to Silk Way. Cathay Pacific retires Boeing 747-400 on North American routes
Cathay Pacific Airways bid farewell to "the Queen of the Skies," the Boeing 747-400, nearly 30 years after first touching down at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) in July 1986.
