Air New Zealand is taking the country’s Commerce Commission to court in a bid to counter its allegations that 13 airlines colluded in fixing prices in theair cargo market there. All three of Qantas’ new A380 super jumbo jets are up, up and away once more after being grounded for 24 hours to deal with fuel tank and steeringproblems, the carrier said. AUSTRALIA: BOC reaches leasing deal with Virgin Blue
BOC Aviation has concluded a purchase- and-leaseback (PLB) deal with Virgin Blue Airlines for one late-2008 vintage aircraft and three new Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The aircraft will be leased for an average lease term of 10 years, with delivery of the three new aircraft scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. Singapore Airlines has begun flights between Kuwait and Singapore, via Abu Dhabi from mid-March. The new four times weekly service will operate usingthe Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
