Chinese express carrier YTO Cargo Airlines will operate thrice weekly services between Singapore and Hangzhou for Alibaba’s e-commerce shipments with Cainiao Network starting 2 November, with the first of many arriving at Changi Airport earlier today at 1600 hrs. Alibaba’s Cainiao to ship same day in 11 Asian countries
Alibaba's logistics arm Cainiao Network has fully implemented its Apollo proprietary logistics technology to enhance parcel processing capacity by 10-fold in 11 Asian countries during peak periods when hundreds of millions of parcels are processed. Swissport moves in to newly opened Berlin airport
Swissport International is moving out of Berlin Tegel and Berlin Schönefeld as it looks to expand ground handling and cargo operations at the newly opened Berlin Brandenburg Airport from 31 October. Cargo operations at Berlin Tegel will relocate to a new air cargo facility at Berlin Brandenburg starting 9 November. ‘Dynamic load factors’ more realistic for air cargo, TIACA says
TIACA is calling for the use of the dynamic load factor methodology as the industry standard for measuring the utilisation of air cargo capacity. Introduced in 2019 by CLIVE Data Services, this methodology measures how full an aircraft is by considering both freight volume and weight.
